Melbourne Cup's 'Nup to the Cup' Campaign. #DVB202
It’s called ‘The Race that Stops a Nation”, however, more recently, Australian’s will be encouraged to stop for a different reason, that being, the introduction of the ‘Nup to the Cup’ campaign. The ‘Nup to the Cup’ campaign is the answer to The Other Side of the Story, honing in on the violent tragedies faced towards horses every year at the Melbourne Cup. Every year, horses are subjected to brutal mistreatment and relentless training all for the ritualistic celebration of wealthy punters gambling, drinking and dressing up in their finest. With the heavy toll placed on these intelligent mammals, it’s no wonder that they are sustaining injuries, poor health and an overall high-risk of exertion.
Using the #EyeJack application, I have enabled an Augmented Reality function to help articulate the harrowing issues not only at the annual Melbourne Cup but to all global racing events being exploited for profit/entertainment.
